Webstoresoftware™ (WSS) Software Documentation
History and Introduction:
Hello, my name is Dave, in my time as a programmer i had gathered experience for many years regarding online sales and ecommerce structure. After coding a store plugin for an open source script in 2015 and seeing how users were challenged with what they were using at the time, i started developing some ideas. In early 2019 i came up with the idea to build a online webstore software that had most everything a user would need to get up and running quickly and also give them the features and options they needed in one digital box.
At first i used bootstrap as i had developed a liking for it on an earlier small project and thought it was the way i wanted to do this project. About 20% into the WSS project i started feeling that maybe i did not want to continue using the bootstrap model. One reason is that i kept thinking how dependent the project was already on bootstrap. Another reason was that i had not really dove into HTML5 as much as others at the time and it was the same with CSS3. When someone showed me that i could easily get the same appearance with basic HTML5 and CSS3 as i did with bootstrap (which would relieve the dependency on bootstrap), i was sold. So i took the next several months ripping the project apart, removing any reference to bootstrap and using basic HTML5 and CSS3 in its place
Then in the fall of 2019 i felt burned out as it was just me at the time working on the project. Plus the hot humid summer had passed here in East Texas and it was time to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather after being trapped indoors for months. So i took some time away from the computer and put the project on hold.
Then there was the worldwide pandemic, the riots, and the horrible economy which affected my income as well. This led me to focusing on other activities in my life. So now here we are in summer of 2020 and i am now beginning to get the coding fever once again. I decided to do some documentation on the project to ease my way back into it. The bottom line is that i dont want to rush this project. I am not going to push anything out the door just to get it done. I want something well thought out, easy to use, feature packed, user friendly, and most of all done very well. That is where we are today. I plan to have the project and hopefully the documentation done in late 2020 or early 2021.
